Eastern Sectionals Scouting Reports
18 & Over 3.5, 4.5 and 40 & Over 3.0
USTA Eastern Section Championships for Adult 18 & Over 3.5, 4.5 take place August 18 - 20, 2017 in Schenectady, NY. Adult 40 & Over 3.0 also take place the same weekend.
All the teams are very good and any team has a chance to beat any other team. Tennis League Analytics ranks these teams as the strongest in their flights.
18 & Over
Women’s 4.5
6 teams in one flight
Top teams:
1. Southern
2. LI
3. Metro
Women’s 3.5
6 teams in one flight
Top teams:
1. NJ
2. Metro
3. Western
The 3rd, 4th, and 5th strongest teams are very close to each other but NJ and Metro should finish at the top.
Men’s 4.5

Top teams:
1. Metro
2. LI
3. NJ
This is a very competitive flight between the top 4. Metro has a slight edge in strength.
Men’s 3.5
6 teams in one flight
Top teams:
1. Metro
2. Southern
3. LI
Very competitive flight - teams 2 through 6 are separated by three hundredths of a point. Metro has an edge but any team could take this flight.
40 & Over
Women’s 3.0
6 teams in one flight
Top teams:
1. Southern
2. Northern
3. Metro
The NTRP 3.0 level has the most variability. In both Women’s and Men’s, the top team has a strength rating advantage that should help.
